Activity 1: Simulation Game. Estimated duration: 10 min

Projectile Motion - Intro

Blast a car out of a cannon, and challenge yourself to hit a target! Learn about projectile motion by firing various objects. Set cannon angle, height, and initial speed. Take measurements or display velocity and acceleration vectors. Turn on air resistance and observe what happens to the projectile's path. Note: Students will automatically move through this simulation after 10 minutes of playtime.

Projectile Motion - Lab

Blast everyday objects out of a cannon! Change the mass and diameter of the objects, and experiment with a toy car or record-setting pumpkin. Explore projectile motion on another planet by changing the acceleration due to gravity. Use the tracer tool to measure the time, range, and height along the projectile's path. Note: Students will automatically move through this simulation after 10 minutes of playtime.

Newton's Third Law: Equal and Opposite Reactions

It is up to you to learn all you can about Newton's 3rd law to pass the quest ahead. You will apply action forces on boxes and jump to safety as you collect coins. You will be able to see the direction of force as you navigate through the levels. Once you reach safety, you will test your knowledge on Newton's 3rd law at the end.

Boing: Newton's Third Law (Mid)

You will help Newton jump from one tree to another, while collecting apples on the way. You have to determine the right amount of force Newton needs to make it to each tree. If you collect apples and answer questions correctly, you will increase your points. Beware, if you add too much force or not enough, Newton will miss the tree and lose the game.

Activity 5: Question Game. Estimated duration: 13 min

What's Your Reaction? (Mid)

In this game, you'll meet Isaac Newton, and he needs your help getting to a party. He will introduce you to his third law of motion before the game starts. Hop from column to column while collecting coins. You will occasionally land on a special column where you need to answer questions related to Newton's laws and force. If you fall, try answering a question correctly to keep playing.

Activity 6: Question Game. Estimated duration: 15 min

Newton Pool

The game consists of hand-crafted levels where the player controls a white ball. The goal of each level is to get the white ball to the end of the level in as few moves as possible, while racking up points by bumping golden balls into obstacles on the way! The game does not have any instructional math content, it simply has math review questions spread throughout.

Galaxy Escape

10 Bright Monsters have been captured in space and they need your help to cross the galaxy jumping between platforms, finding them, and releasing them by correctly answering each question. Each monster that you release and unlock will be available to play with in the next level, in the search for the next monster. In your journey, you’ll be able to find power-ups, like ‘Double points’ and ‘Slow down’, which can be activated by finding gems, and their duration can be extended by correctly answering a question. Unlock and release the 10 different monsters and a spaceship along 10 different levels, while you make the most possible points.

The 3rd Law

Help Sam, an astronaut, explore a newly discovered planet. You'll move your spaceship by engaging thrusters. Rotate your spaceship correctly to grab astronauts lost in space. You'll need to answer questions about corresponding opposite forces to show your understanding of Newton's 3rd law. Get a high score by moving everything in the correct direction at the correct time!

Block Color The Game

Newton's Third Law says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This game will allow you to play with this law in order to move blocks into target areas. Each level will get a little harder and you'll need to maneuver the obstacles that get in your way. Are you a Third Law expert? Prove it in this game!

Blueprint Bash: Newton's 3rd Law (Mid)

You might need a pencil or a calculator handy for this game. This game will teach you about Newton's third law of motion. You will have to predict what will happen in fourteen different scenarios. Most of the scenarios will require you to manipulate the f=ma equation. After each problem, you'll see a blueprint animation of the answer! You will not forget Newton's Law after this!
